Machine embroidery is designed to reproduce a pattern efficiently. Hand embroidery gives an artisan the freedom to work with the fabric, adjust the placement, control the density, build layers and refine individual motifs as the design develops. That freedom creates depth, movement and character that a fixed machine pattern cannot offer in the same way.
