Reshambagh is rooted in Aminabad, Lucknow, the historic centre of India's Zardozi craft. Every piece is hand-embroidered by karigars who have practised for decades. We do not outsource, we do not mass-produce, and we do not take shortcuts. Each garment carries the memory of the hands that made it.

About Reshambagh

Zardozi is a centuries-old technique of working real gold and silver wire, beads, and precious stones onto stretched fabric. Originating in the Mughal courts, it is considered the highest form of Indian embroidery. A single bridal lehenga can take four months of work by a skilled karigar.

Craft & Process

Dabka is a coiled metal thread used in embroidery to create raised, rope-like lines and dimensional texture. Unlike flat zari thread, Dabka gives motifs a sculptural quality, it is used to outline and define patterns within Zardozi compositions.

Craft & Process

Zardozi uses metallic wire, beads, and gold/silver thread to create rich, raised surface embroidery, it is dense, ornate, and light-catching. Chikankari is its opposite: delicate white-on-white hand embroidery worked on fine muslin, known for its restraint and subtle texture. Both originate in Lucknow but are entirely different traditions.

Craft & Process

Begin by sharing your vision, a sketch, reference image, fabric swatch, or simply an idea. Our team will translate your direction into a detailed embroidery design: handwork style, materials, and placement are agreed before work begins. Once approved, the piece goes to our karigars in Lucknow. The process typically takes 6–16 weeks depending on complexity.

Custom Orders

A typical custom order takes 6–10 weeks. A heavily embroidered bridal piece with Zardozi work can take 12–16 weeks. We will give you a clear timeline before work begins and keep you updated throughout the process.

Custom Orders

Yes. If you have a garment or fabric you would like embroidered, bring it to us or send it to our studio. We will assess its suitability for the handwork style you have in mind and advise on the best approach.

Custom Orders

We work primarily with silk katan, georgette, chanderi, organza, and fine muslin, sourced in person from mills in Varanasi, Surat, and Chanderi. We test every bolt by hand before it enters the Karkhana. We use only natural fibres.

Craft & Process

Yes. Bridal embroidery is at the heart of what we do. We create full bridal ensembles, lehengas, shararas, gararas, suits, and sarees, with Zardozi, Dabka, and other heritage handwork. Each bridal piece is a commission: designed around your vision, your occasion, and your garment.
